Media Technology & Ethics: I always feel like somebody's watching me
The internet is one of the biggest creations in today's society. From technology to social media, there are many creations. However, you have to be aware and alert. With technology advancing, some people feel as if their privacy is being breached. Are we being watched? Is our data being collected? There are so many unanswered questions. For example, there was an interview with Instagram’s CEO and Gayle King. She asked, “Are you listening to our private conversations?” This sparked because she and many others have experienced similar situations. You could be talking about a certain product, and barely a day later an advertisement for it pops up on your feed. Coincidence? I think not. You have to be careful with social media and what you say/do. Sometimes being too public can backfire and put you at risk. #beware Ethics in media and technology is an important factor.
